LDN: Rare working of 'WVL' [V2] on route 3

I earlier on posted a photo of the new Wright bodied B9. Here is a longer version of the B7TL volvo, this time making a rare appearance on route 3.

Route 3 is worked by beddington garage; the garage has only Trident allocated. The Wright bodied volvos work from Walworth garage, and the garage does not run buses on route 3.

Therefore, this is a case of a loan of a bus + driver from WL garage to Bedington garage to run on the route. this is really rare.

Is it a 11m version?

As I know little about London Buses,
I once thought that all London double-deckers are of the same length.

Ldn: how long are the buses?

the streets of london are narrow; London was already built up by the 1930s, so the requirements are for smaller buses.
Traditionally buses were short and narrow. The low floor double decks used in London are of two length: the short 10 or 10.1 metre or the somewhat longer 10.6m/10.7m long such as V2 on the 3.
Go Ahead group buy only short 10m long buses; Stagecoach perferred buying 10.6m long buses.

Single deck buses used in London come in different length: the MDP which is 8.8/8.9m which serves 'back street', the 9.3m , the standard 10.1m , 10.6/10.7m long darts and the rare 11m long dart .
There are very few 12m long single decks in London.
