There were plans to fit it with RR RB524 engines and westernised cockpit, but no airline bought it in such configuration
2. Maybe correct, if you got parts.And the problem is, where do you find those parts ;P
The Soviet, and current CIS aircraft builders, were/are famous for poor after-sales servicing
3. The extra large cargo demand has risen in the recent years.It was still quite hard to determine whether an An-124 would be needed or a Boeing 747-200F would do, for most of the jobs.

用RR加新cockpit......你想買antonov都未必出倒貨
蘇制飛機唔夠parts不嬲都知,唔係都唔會咁多飛機store黎做parts喇:P
而An124比B742好既就係佢個volume夠大.....
如果唔係airbus點會有大白鯊,波音又改裝747;P
雖然boeing話暫時兩隻改裝747都係自用,
但唔排除第日evergreen會自己"善用資源"...
