Plan 英國遊的問題

各城市之間主要會用火車
1) 想問下買邊隻 Rail Pass 比較好?
2) 會唔會飛入 Edinburgh/Glasgow 再一路玩落倫敦好D，定係由倫敦出發，玩上 Glasgow/Edinburgh 再坐夜行火車返倫敦好?
3) Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh 建議玩幾多日?
4) 在倫敦以外的其他城市，係咪要另外買 card/pass 去搭當地的公交?用 Oyster Card 可以互通嘛?

1. 唔太熟，答你唔到
2. 無分別，睇你想去到凍啲嘅地方先，定係調翻轉
3. 真係睇你想睇咩，行程有幾緊湊，快嘅即日來回又得，慢嘅each city stay一星期都無問題
4. London local都開始少用oyster，全英基本上你有張MasterCard/VISA都可以解決到交通問題
1. Britrail or Eurrail Global Pass are still too expensive for your short stay.
2. Unless you can do open jaw flight to Glasgow / Edinburgh and return from London, while the air fare is not much more expensive, then go ahead. If not, day train to and from London would be fine. The new Caledonian Sleeper is not that comfortable.
3. Too vague. You better message me for more detail chat.
4. Oyster card is only valid within London Travelcard zones or extension area. The rest of the UK still rely on the traditional ticketing system, requiring you to buy tickets before travelling, through any UK train companies website, ticket office, etc. iseen 發表於 2022-10-28 07:37

Thanks for your info. regarding open jaw, it's only USD$50 more.
I am just on the basic planning stage, just plan to see those "must see" in these cities. Please feel free to PM me. We would like to see the churches and those old British and Scottish style architecture.

剩係遊玩就唔好諗Oyster Card啦，除非你本身有。
對遊客黎講Oyster做到嘅，Visa/Master (PAYG)都做到。包括day cap。
唯一唔同係用Oyster可以即時睇到有無扣錯錢，（visa/master要等上到銀行系統）
呢度成日遇到明明拍佐出閘，但系統無紀錄。
倫敦嘅Oyster或PAYG嘅適用範圍可參閱下圖：

不過大家的資料幫左唔少，了解多D可以行程 Plan 好D

視乎係咪真係好鍾意搭火車，我2019年用8-days England Pass，London-York及London-Windermere兩日來回就回本有突。
英格蘭地勢平坦，早年起落唔少優質幹線，倫敦出發好多地方都可以即日來回，我當年都係住倫敦，每日睇個天再決定去邊度，但只限英格蘭內。
Scotland唔知樓主會否考慮去埋更北地方，咁樣搭Caledonian Sleeper過癮啲，Glasgow/Edinburgh-London車程太短，都冇乜時間體驗就要落車。但alternatively，呢個路程可以搭日車，體驗Class 390或Class 800，亦可以分段玩埋中間城市。
除非好想保存紙本Pass，否則可考慮買Mobile Pass，因為未必搵到人開閘，我之前試過在Paddington要離遠揮手召喚職員。 DIH 發表於 2022-10-31 22:17

多謝資訊，
其實只係唔想駕車 (駕開左軚怕駕右軚看錯位入錯線咁就GG了) ，但又想去曬D地方才想到坐火車
有些郊區D的，例如湖區，蘇格蘭的尼斯湖，會在附近的城市報 one-day tour解決
有些城市係去為了見下多年沒見的香港朋友，順便玩玩
既然open jaw 機票不太貴咁就當然一路北上或南行不坐夜車了
