I've only heard of British Citizen before.

NOTHING has been officially confirmed and announced yet as the Lisbon Treaty will not come into force no earlier than 2009.It is still WAY TOO EARLY to comment on the issue at the moment.
The Labour gov. had only ask a Lord Goldsmith to commission a few pieces of research and a series of pamphlets for a Citizenship review.It still has to pass through the Parliament and certainly the Queen.(correct me if i am wrong)
However, it is indeed a arguable case for BNOers when it comes to the ECHR where Portugal Citizen in Macau and every EU countries' "nationals" are regarded as European Citizen.
Finally, I must remind you that BNO is granted for HK people for life.Once you have registered yourself as BNO you will always have it with you all your life, even when you have obtain a British Citizenship.
It is a shameful thing for HK people not to have Right Of Adobe in the UK nor in China.What a political joke!So we are Chinese National Overseas, too! :D
所以我出外讀書，除非係要出示passport
填form時，國籍同Citizenship，我係填Hong Kong
可能因為真係好尷尬，暫時都無話唔ok
我聽講都係因為印度定巴基斯坦因為有十幾萬人
因為唔知點解無左國藉
所以英國先俾返果十幾萬人一個身份
之後就有d人(主要係以前無申請,而家fight個bno既人)吹
話英國會放埋而家香港bno果批....
唔知真定假!

假設如果我現在正在使用特區護照作旅行證件，當我的特區護照到期後，可不可以再申請BNO護照 ??
(即是我未申請特區護照前使用BNO作為旅行證件)
BN(O) 身份跟足一世但唔可以傳俾子女。
只要你未死都仲可以申請番本 BN(O) 護照。

But if you married a BNO holder, with a valid, at least 6month, resident permit in the UK, and your kids will be claimed as British Citizen if they are born in the UK.How ridiculous!

作為香港人真係好無奈。
回歸前拎本BN(O)去台灣，入境時，我就在國籍一欄填上BN(O)。不料，當地入境職員在我張入境紙上打個交叉，然後替我填上中國。
