First Essex- different liveries same company

First is not one of the best opeators when it came to vehicle presentation.
It makes it an interesting company to photo.

The first photo shows a nearside view of a wright bodies scania L94, going downhill at Colchester, with current route branding and 'correct' livery.

Then two photos of special livery:

Bristol VR3072 - the preserved vehicle working on route 67, while volvo B6 with alexander dash body 47252 also works the route with traditional eastern national livery.

ex London Metro M511 is now a police public information service bus leased by First and maintained by them, shown in Great Yarmounth bus garage

and an earlier version of a Northern Counties bodied Olympian shown with a very old and fading livery- the bus needs urgent re-painting.

regards

Yoram.

The green livery made the Dash-bodied B6 looked to be very old...
sort of like buses that had been on the road for about 15-20 years...

and the NC-bodied Olympian,
better had it repainted soon, or withdraw it...#:P

I would like to ask about the engine and the transmission type of Bristol VR.
Are they similiar to those Olympians which are using Gardner engines?

I have no idea regarding the bristol VR engine or transmission.

I agree that, of all the big UK bus groups,[ Stagecoach, Go Ahead, Arriva, National Express], the worst looking vehicles are the ones from First, as they do seem not to be able to paint the vehicles on a regular basis. But more seriously, at least two of their major operations- at Bristol and Manchester had their licenses changed, so they had to run less buses than before.
