I think the cost can also be due to the fact that the bus body is full aluminum, rather then aluminum+fiber Glass.

Besides, I'd also like to ask where are the exsisting American E500s finished in? Yes, most of the panel is aluminum, the existing E500 is made in UK, but with parts made in US/ or US spec.
