[飛行報告]達美航空DL624 SFO -> JFK B737-800之旅 (42p)

Spring break期間本人前往美國東岸探望數個多年沒見的朋友,順道觀光旅遊,因而有機會
第一次乘坐美國內陸航班,順便為本人的KE Skypass增加里數。

本來想坐Continental Airlines的,因為CO的Hub在EWR,離開本人前往的目的地較近,可惜
訂位之時,CO的廉價座位已售清,只有Delta還有$240以下的來回機票,於是就選擇了DL。

全程時間:5小時25分

一切從這裏開始:乘搭BART(即三藩巿的地鐵)到SFO站後,轉乘無人駕駛的airtrain前往Terminal 1。

Delta在Terminal 1有自助check in終端機。由於本人沒有行李寄艙(按:內陸機行李寄艙一律收$15),因此check in完畢可直接入閘。

本人的登機證。Delta的登機證相當簡單,沒有彩色,只是印刷在一張普通的傳真紙上,面積比其他航空公司的登機證都要小,極易弄皺。

登機閘口數攝。值得一提的是:
1. T1是domestic terminal,arrival/departure均在同一樓層。
2. Delta登機有一個本人相當欣賞的安排,就是將全機座位分為10個不同的zone,逐個逐個zone登機,免卻乘客登機後因擺放行李
而導致通道阻塞的混亂。
3. Gate 48附近沒有窗口,無從拍攝停泊在該閘口的飛機。

JFK Terminal 3內亂攝。和SFO T1一樣,這裏並沒有區分離境、抵達樓層。換言之,轉機的乘客可直接在大堂內等候,無須再經過保安檢查。

這台B737-800稍後還要做JFK -> SEA。

可惡的是,JFK Gate 9附近同樣沒有窗口,因此始終無法拍攝之前所乘的飛機,亦無從知道該飛機的tail number。

airtrain到達Jamaica station終點站(收費$5),準備在這裏轉乘LIRR列車到New York Penn Stn(要多轉一程車,也是我本來想坐CO的原因),

To depart for NYC from JFK international airport, you may either:

1. Take the airtrain to Jamaica station, then change to NYC Subway Line E for Queens and Manhattan, or Lines J or Z for Brooklyn and Manhattan. The airtain fare is $5, and the subway fare is $2, irrespective of your destination.

2. Take the airtrain to Jamaica station, then look for a Penn Station-bound Long Island Rail Road train. Each single journey on the LIRR costs $12, but if you pre-book tickets on the internet (which is what I did; the tickets will be mailed to you in three business days) it will be $4.99 each way. The trains depart every 5 - 15 minutes and the journey time from Jamaica to Penn Station is somewhere between 20 and 25 minutes, which I presume is much faster than the subway. I will post more pictures of the rail ride on board R3 in the latter part of this week.

3. Take the airtrain to Howard Beach station, and hop on a Manhattan/Brooklyn bound Line A subway train. (Remark: Howard Beach-bound and Jamaica-bound airtrains share the same platform; make sure you pay attention to the station announcements).

There should be buses from Jamaica and Howard Beach to the city center, but I know little about them and would not advise you to take them, for the rail is probably much more convenient. You may refer to http://www.panynj.gov/Airtrain/around_jfk.html for more information.

I don't know much about hotels in NYC, but I figure you might have to look out for deals in Brooklyn or Queens.

LIRR 應該不用 $12, 除非是 peak hours. off-peak (除平日上午九時半前外) 價錢大概是 $5.25
如果去 Manhattan 的話,強烈建議用 air-train + LIRR,因為 LIRR 由 Jamaica 到 Manhattan Penn Station 只需 20 分鐘,比地鐵 A/E train 的五十多分鐘快得多而且舒服得多。
小提示:JFK Airtrain 有三條線,一條係 Howard Beach (stations A and B) 往返各 terminal, 一條是 Jamaica (station D) 往返各 terminal, 一條是 inter-terminal circular。去搭 LIRR 要用 Jamaica 線。在各 terminal 站裡,Jamaica 線與 Howard Beach 線共用一月台,梅花間竹開,而 inter-terminal 就用另一邊月台行相反方向循環於各 terminal 之間。往來各 terminal 是免費的,往 Jamaica / Howard Beach 才要付錢,那兩個站有售票機即場買飛。
小心 LIRR 平日下午繁忙時間因為大量列車被抽往東行服務,班次會稍疏。可先 check MTA 網 http://mta.info 查一查時間表,會更好預算。
