volvo B5L Hybrid & wright hybrid photos -road
5 of those buses were ordered by Arriva for evaluation . Those have been delivered to Volvo in North London; although they are licensed for service, and have the stickers proclaiming them to operate for Arriva, in fact, Arriva did not take formal delivery of them. Most days you can see at least 2 of them being run along route 141 on test with officials from volvo, arriva and even London Buses.Here are two shots of them taken at Southgate Road:
one is a nearside, and the other one is an offside, so you can clearly see where the engine compartment is located, the end tail of the bus, and the extra half bay lower window.
for comparison here is the nearside of the Wright Hybrid integrated bus-HW4- .
note the difference at the far rear end between HW4 and the volvo B5L The new B5L using the older version of the Wright body (still reckon it looks better than the new version)...any particular reasons? no idea, sorry! May I ask if the new Wright bodies are still using Volvo Engines?

No. The Cummins engine is only used in the diesel powered DL version, the hybrid HEV version uses a Ford engine and Siemens hybrid system. I now have the answer as to why the volvo B5L's body is of the older version:
the new body version is only available on the new integrated Wright bus !

No it's not, it's available on the B9TL chassis as well. Lothian has 75 of those on order, and a number are being delivered just now to Isle of Man.
