Trident on 142, small dart on the 64

Here are two 'oddities' from London:

Route 64: I show here a small 8.8m long plaxton dart from Metrobus on route 64- normally the home of the Scania Omindekka double decks. Note the all red colour of the bus imposed by Transport for London on all operators.

Route 142: This is a trident with alx400 body, owned by Arriva. Arriva in London do not operate tridents at all but DAFs/VDLs and volvos. Route 142 is operated by red DAF alx400 d/ds , and this bus-5421- has been transferred from Luton to work a schools extra on the route.
5421 would be repainted into red livery during half term later this month.

That means it will become the only Arriva Trident with London red livery?

Yes!

Arriva in the UK does not own many Tridents. The buses owned are not dual door, and the internal design of the bus does not comply with TfL specification.
This trident was transferred for school work, and this had to be agreed with TfL; but they wanted the bus to be painted red.

So, unless there is another agreement between Arriva and TfL regarding other schoold buses, this trident is likely to be the ONLY red trident.
