Electricity supply questions

1. What is the maximum kVA for a cut-out?

2. What is the kVA for a typical transformer used in a building?

Please provide CLP and HKE data separately.

以中電為例,各種常用的變壓器之額定功率如下:
11KV > 380/220V (郷村用,木柱支架) --- 200KVA
11KV > 380/220V (住宅及輕工業,地盤等) --- 1.6MVA
132KV > 33KV 、 33KV > 11KV --- 35~50MVA
400KV > 132KV --- 240MVA

* 只有 200KVA 熔斷器在低壓側 (400A X 3)

由於受到本港電力工程人員牌照的管制
即俗稱 A 牌和 B 牌,兩者可作業的電流容量
分別是 400 及 2500 安培,故上列的 380/220V
供電規格適用於本港兩間電力公司.

如是住宅樓宇,會以一戶 5~10KVA 計算
(以面積,樓宇類別而言)以 1.6MVA 的倍數
來決定變壓器的數目,而目前住宅用戶電錶
的極限電流值是 80 安培,錶前過荷掣在 50~80 安培,
舊式錶前熔斷器常是 100 安培.

Is it installed in a transformer room in a private development or in a purposely built CLP Substation?

Are these the ones we use in existing buildings? But I see many of them write 1500kVA and not 1600.

For MTR?

How about those with Grade C license? Do they all work for power companies? I don't think so. So what else do they do?

What are 錶前過荷掣 and 錶前熔斷器 in English? What are their differences?

It is still used at outlying Islands and remote rural area.
It is outdoor, oil-filled type, pls see the attached diagram.

In fact some old devices have a safety margin.
Newly plants are 1600 KVA rating.

Linense C requires for holding Linense B at least 6 years.
Exam with paperwork but no practical parts, most of them
work in the contractor of electric companies.
*The permissible rate should be 2500A for Lincese B workers.

What are their differences?

MCCB & Fuse respectively, installed BEFORE the kilowatt-hour meter.
