Or else alight from to the bus asap! You are facing on-spot fine of A$100 ($HK 700) if you are caught fare evasion!

Anyway that is Metrobus 30 right?

Unlike CityRail, the fines is part of their income..

Not sure if it is as same as Cityrail's as for Cityrail on-spot fine is A $ 200:L

It could be a 20... but not sure about are 20/30 both using the same stop
I remember that the fine is AUS$100
Coz one of my friends was caught by them ...:L

silly question:
Actually, it is a must to pass-by the driver's seat when boarding,
u will either hv to show ur ticket, or hv to buy one (if selling on-board is available) to enter the compartment.
so why they are still sending revenue protection staff on board?

so...

You don't need to show ur ticket to the driver, there are two ticket machines for u to validate your ticket on each bus,
imagine when a bus driver is selling ticket to a passenger, you can simply dip ur ticket on the other machine and go away from the driver
Also, the driver can't do anything even he saw ur ticket!
Example: Blue TravelTen (1-2 section) is suitable for travelling within the City (say Town Hall to Central)
but you can travel beyond the City on the same bus if you are able to escape from those Revenue Officers...
Of course there are some exceptions which driver will randomly check ur ticket when u are validating it,
but there are very few drivers in STA will do that because that will certainly make the journey longer

That's why there are always many Revenue Officers in the City.

Thanks for your detailed explanation.
I am living in the UK, and I didnt knowthe driver is not the one to check the ticket and people have to validate their ticket by machine in AUS, so i was jus curious about this topic.:loveliness:
