我覺得好似好多香港人捧英格蘭/曼聯咁,同 ADL (Dennis) 有情意結嘛!始終,香港係其中一個 ADL 最成功既市場。

再者,有幾多人熟悉 Evobus? Irisbus? 即使係 Mercedes Benz,香港人對佢地既 product 既優劣好自然都冇對 ADL / Volvo 咁熟。小弟都唔熟。如是者如果要喜歡一個品牌的話,對 ADL 情有獨鐘絕對可以理解。

不過鐘意還鐘意,講到 ADL 勁到可以所向披靡咁,未免帶了一點點不理性成份了。

Agree NV58. Just take a step to the European continent and you will see how the market is working. I don't really have bias on any company, but I think the target set by ADL is a bit far from its strength.

As NV58 mentioned,Solo faces rare competition in Europe, but selling a full size bus to Europe like ADL would be a disaster. I bet, if ADL sells hybrid E200 or Optare sells hybrid Solo, they can have fairly good harvest.

BTW hybrid is only a bridging technology to new energy, so manufacturers can only sell hybrid buses for a decade or less. S3N92 is right. Fuel cell technology, esp the prototype ones, is in the musuem. However, more advanced technologies are being investigated inside the R&D department of the large manufacturers. So ADL has better to work hard on selling their hybrid buses before it's too late or put more effort on R&D.

The point I'm getting is, this thing is not like the Solo, which havevery little competition in continental Europe, and yet, still did notset the world alight there. If you think I'm just bashing ADL, I willkindly point out Optare has tried to offer the Tempo, similar in sizeto this new ADL, to continental Europe as well. Guess how many theyhave sold at the end? Yes, just one, in Kiel, Germany.


Point to note:
The Optare Tempo X1200 which was operated by KVG has been withdrawn from service since 19th July 2008. The photo of the farewell trip could be seen here and you may see Optare Solo at the end of page.

El Dorado had clearly stated that US government doesnt allow ADL to make any single decker in USA to protect bus industries in the US
and also from past experience ADL buses are not as durable as am ...

Are transport companys in Canada also regulated by similar policy?
If not, Canada might be a potential market to ADL.
