咁英國佬已攪到Midibus同Fullsize的market overlap得好緊要.

如我之前講, 其實B7/ L113呢d其實佔據的market差唔多......

Closer inspection reveals a fairly different picture actually. Strictly talking about the longest version of Excel 1/2 (11.5/11.8m), the similarity you see is just down to length. But that is just as similar as it gets comparing to the heavier Volvos, Scanias and Mercs. The latter trio can handle heavier load because their chassis are much heavier duty, and that reflects to their higher GVW, and thus a payload advantage. The Excel, or any supermidi for that matter, is only good if the capacity is not needed. It's lighter and cheaper to run, but at a cost of carrying less, and in the long run, less durable.

In fact, for this very reason the supermidis have failed to mount much of a challenge against the heavier competitors. Only when the fuel price rose significantly and, crucially, EU limited all 12m single decker to a maximum capacity of 70 passengers, that we finally see sales of supermidis to pick up.
