LDN: New E200 dart body internal and external modifications

Latest deliveries of E200 darts for London introduced a modified design- internally and, in certain cases- external too.

Internally , the drivers cab has been re-designed, and the 'I-Bus' system displays re-positioned and fitted into the body design.

Externally:
Recently, rules regarding Emergency exits were changed:

If the single deck bus is dual door, there is no need for an emergency offside door, but if the s/d bus has a single door, the emergency
door has been moved to the centre.

So far, only the short dart models show significant external changes:

-The shortest chassis length is now 8.9m , and here is dart 173 on route R1.

-The 9.2m long dart has been changed as well- the body length is now 9.6m, and the window configurations has been altered.
Here is a new dart on route 223, and an older dart shown for comparison on route 339.

Regards

Yoram

The short wheelbase E200 Dart looks so weird with the centre emergency door...:L
And for the 9.6m one, that means passengers should break the glass windows if they have
to evacuate from the right side?

The centre door emergency door has been situated in the centre - for the MAN chassis for some years- yes, it is ugly, and is not helped by painting the door surroundings in black, and placing the roundel in the middle!

on a dual door bus, the passengers are meant to break through the exit door.... that's the new UK wide regulations.

regards and happy new 2012!
