兩個半月之前 Volvo 官方同埋同一時間 <Bus and Coach Buyer> 已經講清楚仍然會分開兩隻車
特地為英國公司整既 B5TL 繼續用翻原有幾間車身供應商
相中咁短尾跨同埋一整隻尾窗既佈局加埋大大隻字寫著 B5TL 固然係柴油版
不過係咪即係話相中車輛只係測試動力配搭同車身物料既樣板,Street Ahead 計劃正式完成品會有全新設計既 Wright 車身配 B5TL / B5LH 底盤?

柴油 B5TL 由 B9TL 改良而成唔難理解,用 D5K240 x ZF Ecolife,全車偷輕一噸,並將部分以前由引擎帶動既機械改為獨立運作,進一步減輕油耗
混能繼續有 B5LH,根據雜誌報導同埋另外搵到一幅圖

大約 10 米長,上星期 Volvo 官網圖片庫已上載左兩隻歐六版本既高清底盤圖片

唔少師兄估純 Wright 底盤 Borismaster 或者自家 Gemini 一體化巴士似乎機會較細,
始終 Wright 唔似得 Volvo B5TL 前身 B9TL 同埋 B5LH 單層/掛接版本有多過兩軸兼且驅動埋冷氣系統既經驗
只不過從愛好者角度睇,車種當然無人嫌多 :D
如無意外 B9TL 唔會立即停產著,新車都未正式出爐,英國每個月仍有 B9TL 出緊牌,新加坡個 550 部應該都未起晒貨,應該會去到出年年初歐六排放生效時先正式停止
不過樓主提到要出年同埋第三季先有,時間同傳聞中對家車廠既混能車差唔多時間出貨,似乎係歐六版本機會較大

That was never the plan from my understanding, although the original press release is quite ambiguous and misleading. For the B5TL, I will be hugely surprised if ADL is still included as the bodywork partner for 1. there has been no E400 bodied B9TL sold over the past 4 years and 2. Volvo is pushing hard to get customers to try the MCV bodywork. Obviously, the B5LH has been bodied by Wrightbus only and is likely to stay that way.

In essence, B5TL is Volvo's E400 - smaller engine, lighter chassis and, with Wright's Street Ahead, bodywork. The target is to get the empty weight down to no more than 11,000kg. Whilst it's worth noting that the current equivalent London-spec B9TL is nearly 1,000kg heavier, or 400 kg heavier than its rivals, much of it seems to do with the heavier engine and the structures that needs to support it. With the B5LH, Volvo and Wright manage to get the weight pretty much on par against the E400H. So taking away the hybrid gears, and a lighter engine, bodywork, chassis and smaller fuel tank, the 11t target shall be achievable. Once the prototype comes out, we shall know a bit more.
As for the future of the B9TL, I don't see it staying into production post Euro 6 (if current customers all migrate to Euro 6 that is), considering the changes required to adapt the engine to the new standard is much more challenging than moving from Euro 4 to 5.

That is quite a relieve to know... The prototype looks hopelessly ugly. At first, I thought I was looking at the Caeteno double deck body's front.
The design language of the rear is totally off that of the other parts. I cannot help wondering why the upper deck windows are shorter and longer than usual though.
I think there is a twist to that - the modified bodywork is carrying a lot of the design clue that is likely to make it to Street Ahead. We saw that when the (UK) B9TLs having a new rear design on their Mk.1 Gemini bodywork before the design got carried across to Gemini 2. So don't be surprised that this is what's coming in the future.

新版 B5TL 公佈左大半年,新車相都係呢個帖傳出去先既 (當然亦有可能本身從唔同渠道見到張相而轉貼) :lol
雖然話就話而家 D5K240 已經介乎以前吉拿 6LXCT 至康偈 LT10 既扭力同轉數級數
但 5.1 公升四汽缸,同埋 TL (即係由珍寶年代開始至 B9TL 個種橫置引擎全低地台)
應該都係留翻英國/愛爾蘭個邊居多,幾十年黎佢地買雙層城市巴士幾乎指定要呢種擺法既機械佈局,逼都逼唔到佢地轉
港版加埋冷氣後負擔更大,頂龍得兩軸版而且性能相信都好極有限,應該唔係 B5TL
不過一於留名等 Volvo 延續型號名混亂既傳統 :D
繼官方"雙層版" B7L、Olympian (B9TL)、香港行家率先翻炒既型號名 "B10T" (用黎形容 Olympian) 後
早幾年官方 B5LH 新聞稿亦曾經叫錯隻車做 "B5TL",幾年黎不論英國行家貼圖/影片甚至行內雜誌好多都跟著叫錯
未來將來兩隻車係英國並存,今鋪重要係差唔多同一年代既雙層車,比之前堆例子更混淆...
B9TL唔係今年停產咩?仲有得訂,下代歐六如果九巴要買富豪係咪親自聯絡廠方?
