dear all,
Route 188 changed operators this weekend: from London General [part of the Go Ahead group] to Travel London [part of National Express].
Travel London ordered 24 WVL for the route - those are 10.6m long with a ventilation system. they also show the new blind arrangements.
Travel London call their WVLs the V class.
Here is V31 at Waterloo Bridge on the first day- Sat 3 dec.
Route 42
East Thames buses is owned by London Buses, and, in early October they moved to a new depot in South London in an area known as Bricklayers Arms [after the train depot that used to be situated where the bus garage is- and Bricklayers Arms is a well known name of a pub!].
Routes 1 42 &393 are operated from the garage at Mandela way code MA.
Route 42 is operated by single deck scanias with east lancs body- known now as omnitowns.
but problems with the buses led to the appearance of the occasional d/d - and the route was operated by d/d at weekend.
here are els5 & wvl7 at the stand which is near liverpool street station.
Route 9:
as predicted, SRM3 appeared on route 9- this weekend. Here it is at the strand.
Regards
Yoram |
