Buses in Japan are predominantly Japanese.
Very rare to see a German bus in Japan.
According to a Japanese web site I found on the internet :)

That bus is a Neoplan Centroliner.

There are quite a number of European, especially German buses in Japan. They are more common than you expected.

除左neoplan/benz外,仲有無其他原裝歐洲巴士呢?

European buses brands in Japan as I see:
AEC
Leyland
Bristol
Van Hool
Mercedes Benz
NEOPLAN
Volvo (B10M...)
Drogmuller
Renault
...

The number of NEOPLAN buses in Japan should be not less than that in Hong Kong.

It is noticeable that the two European bus models (Neoplan Centroliner and Mercedes Benz Citaro) shown in this website are articulated buses. As I know, NONE of the Japanese bus manufacturers produce articulated bus chassis, so they could only be imported from other countries.

Some of those Japanese Volvo B10Ms were articulated buses, too. Interestingly, they were fitted with Japanese bodies.

A quick comparison of the two really shows European products are definitely are more pleasing to the eyes than Japanese ones.:victory:
