LDN: new Wright Mk2 volvo B9L for Go Ahead

the order for 36 Wright bodied volvo B9L was delivered to Go Ahead, intended for Bexleyheath garage and for routes 229 & 422.
Another order of a similar size was placed for 2011, intended for route 171 [Camberwell garage] and 474 [dockland buses] replacing earlier Plaxton bodied volvo B7L[known as PVLs].

Here is wvl353 loading up at Woolwich General Gordon square. note the lady in yellow Hi-Vis jacket. she is there to supervise the orderly queue- as there are problems when large crowds of pupils are around...

The weather is cold and gloomy- a typical January day in London.

Yes it is a B9TL

yes, it is B9TL- sorry; here in London we simply call them 'B9' and the older volvo model 'B7', even though this is not the officially designated full code....this is probably because we do not have any other Volvo bus types...

pls note the difference between the older batch as shown above and the latest batch- it is the fuel intakes.. their different positioning [left to the drivers cab].
