I've driven this Van alots of times, it's my g/f's.
BTW: is the taxi cdi diesel or gasoline, in the States, there are no diesel version. Also, I think Australian version are built in Austria.

It should be a gasoline version AFAIK, mechanical wise they are identical to their private vehicle counterpart.

Yes, it has a wheelchair ramp behind the rear axle. |

This van has a beam rear axle. one of the(if not the) cheapest method to convert it to be wheelchair accessible, is to cut a section of the interior's floor out and put a (glass fibre) lowered bin inside. The wheelchair will be then ~4" lower than the van's floor. The bin has an integrated ramp. (manual operated, hydraulic assisted i believe).
To accomodate the bin, the rear has to be raised, they keep the original trailer arms, beam axle, but having a longer spring.

this company only modifies Ford Windstar and Freestar currently,
and one of the topics of my final year project is to design a complete rear suspension system for this company so that they can modify vans with independent suspensions, Honda Odyssey is their next target.
OT: However, i couldn't get that topic, I'm now working on designing a small scale, low pollution power generation system for a house. |
