Probably still better, from a economics point of view, to have minor congestion than to use a route that will seat 20 less people each bus |

For the TKO-Ma On Shan route, I think there should be two routes: Po Lam/Hang Hau and TKO to Ma On ...
Thank you for your response.- It would be great if new resources can be granted to the TKO-YuenLong route, and the 8 buses can be preserved for the TKO-MOS routes. Nonetheless, if no extra resources are granted to these routes, I would suggest allocating half of the resources to the TKO-YuenLong route on a trial basis. The following three bullet points assume this is the case (i.e. the TKO-MOS routes are combined as suggested into one).
- Regarding the number of stops in Ma On Shan in the TKO-MOS route, I am afraid it would not be feasible to omit the stops around Chevalier Garden / A Kung Kok Street, as the omission may narrow down the source of passengers and the stakeholders may not agree with this change. Or do you mean to provide MOS residents with an express service direct to the Tate's Cairn Tunnel?
- Regarding the number of stops in Shek Mun in the TKO-MOS route, would it be better if these stops are omitted in the departures to TKO in the morning and in the departures to MOS in the evening? In other words, MOS residents working in TKO do not have to spend time revolving around Shek Mun and TKO residents working in MOS may still alight in Shek Mun.
- Regarding the stops around North TKO, would it be better if we follow the planned route as of 1819-RDP, which means midway bustops will be made between Hang Hau and Po Lam as originally planned?

For the TKO-Yuen Long route, you should stop at Tai Po, Fanling and Sheung Shui (like W3 stops) and ...
Thank you for your response.
- Personally, I would not recommend making midway bustops at Fanling and Sheung Shui if the route already stops at Tai Po and Yuen Long, as it may significantly lengthen the time required for the bus to arrive its terminus.
- If it is preferred to add bus stops in Fanling and Sheung Shui after stopping at Tai Po, it may be better for the route to terminate there, instead of continue heading to Yuen Long, as the route may be too lengthy.
- Regarding the extension to Tin Shui Wai, I am afraid it may be too lengthy (unless Route 6 is completed and the route can be separated into two: one to Tai Po, another to Yuen Long).
- Regarding the extension of 290 to Tuen Mun, I am afraid it may not be feasible, as it may greatly increase both the bus fare and route length. It may be better if it can be done by special departures or starting up a new route via Route 6.
- Thank you for the comment on Lam Tsuen Road. Would it be better to omit the stop for Tai Lam Tunnel Interchange (and switch to Fanling Highway (Route 9))?

I think you can stop at Tai Lam Tunnel, just switch to route 9. Thanks for your detailed response! |

I think there should be an express service to Ma On Shan because it will be too long if via Shek Mun and A Kung Kok

So, perhaps the following amendment would be better?- Wu Kai Sha Stn --> Choi Ming (Morning Departure):
Wu Kai Sha > Ma On Shan >>> direct to Tate's Cairn Tunnel >>> direct to Tseung Kwan O Tunnel (> Po Lam > Hang Hau) > Tseung Kwan O > Choi Ming - Choi Ming --> Wu Kai Sha Stn (Morning Departure):
Choi Ming > Tseung Kwan O (> Hang Hau > Po Lam) > Tseung Kwan O Tunnel >>> direct to Tate's Cairn Tunnel > Shek Mun > A Kung Kok > Ma On Shan > Wu Kai Sha - Wu Kai Sha Stn --> Choi Ming (Evening Departure):
Wu Kai Sha > Ma On Shan > A Kung Kok > Shek Mun > Tate's Cairn Tunnel >>> direct to Tseung Kwan O Tunnel (> Po Lam > Hang Hau) > Tseung Kwan O > Choi Ming - Choi Ming --> Wu Kai Sha Stn (Evening Departure):
Choi Ming > Tseung Kwan O (> Hang Hau > Po Lam) > Tseung Kwan O Tunnel >>> direct to Tate's Cairn Tunnel >>> direct to Ma On Shan > Wu Kai Sha
Honestly, if the Tai Po route and the Yuen Long route can come into practice, and if the TKO-MOS route only operate between rush hours, I would suggest the TKO-MOS route omit the stops between Hang Hau and Po Lam, as interchanging from 798 to 682 is a good alternative for TKO(North) to MOS, and the Tai Po route (via Tate's Cairn Tunnel) may provide a good alternative for the reversed direction if it is operated by KMB. Of course, if the tendered TKO-MOS route is operated throughout the whole day, it would be totally another story.

If Tai Po and Yuen Long are assigned together in one route before Route 6 is completed, would it be better to design it like this?
- Po Lam Stn <> Hang Hau <> Tseung Kwan O Tunnel <> Tate's Cairn Tunnel <> Tai Po <> Tai Wo <> Fanling Highway <> Yuen Long <> Yuen Long West
After Route 6 is completed, would it be better to split the routes into two like this?
- Po Lam Stn <> Hang Hau <> Tseung Kwan O Tunnel <> Tate's Cairn Tunnel <> Tai Po <> Tai Wo (*)
- Po Lam Stn <> Hang Hau <> Tseung Kwan O <> TKO-LT Tunnel, Trunk Road T2, Central Kowloon Route <> direct to Tai Lam Tunnel <> Yuen Long <> Yuen Long West (**)
- (*): Further investigations on whether or not to extend to the Northern District
- (**): Further investigations on whether or not to extend to Tin Shui Wai or Hung Shui Kiu
