Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd (0293.HK) is close to placing an order worth around $2 billion for Boeing (BA.N) 777-8F freighters as the Hong Kong carrier embarks on the partial renewal of a fleet of dedicated 747 cargo jets, industry sources said on Monday. Industry sources have said the competition involved an initial purchase of around half a dozen aircraft, worth some $2 billion at list prices before traditional airline discounts. Cathay Pacific is the world's fifth-largest air freight carrier and the third-largest traditional freight airline behind Qatar Airways and Emirates when specialist express parcel carriers FedEx and UPS are excluded, according to latest available data from the International Air Transport Association.

- 當初指國泰會起 350 定 777X 兩者揀一去換佢地堆舊貨機,當時我都估 777X 應該都走唔甩,始終貨運個邊清一色波音機冇咩理由無啦啦走去轉會用 350。
- 今次指佢買 6 架,好明顯係換哂 744ERF。
- 係估唔到國泰貨運原來排下排下排到咁前,排名第五。唔計 FedEx + UPS 呢兩間專做貨運的就排第三。不過佢個排名應該係指國泰集團,連 Air Hongkong 都計埋入去。
- 貨機訂單完左之後,應該差唔多係時候到客機。之前都有講佢地飛地區性航線嘅機都差唔多係時候要諗 Replacement。

客機我覺得好大機會係A350減MTOW,一批A359再加少少A35K,A359代A333啱啱好,然後A35K可以代773飛日本。貨機其實都冇乜懸念架喇,而家得返A350同777X揀,不過777-9X等咗咁多年都仲未交得機,我好懷疑一隻連prototype都未有嘅機型唔知去到2030年交唔交到貨呢?仲要國泰應該唔係排緊隊頭,交得貨嚟隨時已經係10年後🤭 |

因航而家手上有UO,UO又會同CX自己code share甚至飛埋同一堆port,唔知會唔會學當年SQ+Scoot咁,將批舊773/330改做high density飛一d少biz traveler嘅port/班次,然後多biz traveler嘅就自己用手上long haul A33/50+A321N,然後靜待2025 777X出街。
CX自己問題係regional hard product唔得,比咩機佢都死。
