之前睇Buses 講o係London 奧運之前會有定案...暫時考慮既係新Routemaster 同埋三軸雙層車(有空調)
其實我覺得用三軸車既機會係大D......不過到時去到London 既街頭感覺就好似企o係彌敦道咁 |

d RM RML又未拆哂既, 叫First / Stagecoach係全英國/Socland 班哂d 未退既RM/RML返呢
都應該砌得番呢個景既......不過LT就算復古都係想One hand多 |

The problem of a 3 door 12m rigid is that much of the manufacturers in Europe are based in continental Europe, and their products are inevitably focused on left hand drive operations, so there is nothing that can really fit 3 doors in a 12m length. The other thing is fitting 3 doors on a bus of that size means you will lose a substantial amount of seats as well, which Londoners do not like either. In any case, the Citaro Gs are quite agile. They can basically go anywhere a 10.6m Dart can go, albeit taking up almost twice the road space to do so.
So much I miss the RMs, any new Routemaster is simply a no-go. People don't understand that things move on over the years, and the old hop-on-hop-off operations is no longer legally deemed safe. This is one of the many reasons, amongst increasing service cost, aging fleet, why the RMs were taken out of service 3 years ago. Yes, the decision is largely political as well, but one must concede that th new "Pay as you board" (PAYB) scheme is just as, if not even more, efficient on the operational point of view. As for fare-dodgers, the problem is TfL never put enough ticket inspectors on buses. Had they done that, the problem wouldn't have been as bad as it is at the moment.
From the beginning, I only believe artics have a very small place to stay in London - the Red Arrow, and putting them on other services (except the 207, perhaps) is simply silly. London is much better off sticking with double deckers. If they need increased capacity, just go for bigger ones like Lothians Buses of Edinburgh, which operates a fleet of 11m B7TLs and B9TLs, or Dublin Bus, which operates 70 tri-axle B9TLs. |
