Last time in London I saw a driver on 79 who looks like a Chinese.
But more interestingly, an European conductor on 13 spoke Putonghua with me but we ended up talking in English instead! |

I know exactly which one you are on about. His name starts with J, he can manage Japanese too and he likes to 'stalk' to Japanese girls in particular. I remember I have to escort my Japanese 'friends' home to Golders Green from Oxford Circus......... #:-X |

In London, there were conductors from Hong Kong since the 60s. Now, there're a few Chans in Putney (AF). My mate Li is working at QB for Travel London. Minggy is working at KX for Metroline. SW got a few Malays and Chinese as far as I know. There's also Micky from Hong Kong, working in Hounslow. Loads of yellow drivers in London man! There's also another fellow in Coventry who was spotted (by me) driving a Rooutemaster about a month ago.
PS. was in Winchester for the Asian Bus Response and there was a driver from Hong Kong used to run a Chinese take-away. He gave me a 'splendid tour' around the city, on his Dart
There is also a Chinese driver at T for Stagecoach, I chatted to him last year while he was having a stop-over between two megabus trips.
It is hard to see a Chinese to drive a Routemaster. Which route did he work on? |

When I was permanent part-time a few months ago, I had a fixed shift as spare bus at Epping station in the morning during weekdays, normally I do 296s, but if 288/290s run late, the inspector puts me on them. Usually he/she puts me on the 8:54 290 to QVB and then I finish the shift, 288 is only for exceptional cases - they tend to run on-time.
Now that I am casual, they can put me on anything, but last time when they called me in, it was an all 288s shift - M2XX, which was originally a 14.5m shift, my depot inspectors tend to give me Epping Road runs - nice indeed!! and I like driving the 288s #;D |
