First York - FuTuRe

A very wet saturday was spent in York this weekend chasing+photographing the new Wright Streetcar vehicles.
I must say that the entire arrangement is a complete farse, ticket machines are very confusing - when they want to work, and the public of York not really clued up on the vehicles at all - Good publicity throughout all the bus magazines etc, but could of done with more in public places!

Final product, in service.  First york have also bought the demonstrator bus from Wright

Excellent pictures! You beat me by a week because I am planning to go to York next Saturday!

How was the service run as you saw? I have heard some teething problems they had in the first
few days. I wonder the realiability has been any better?

Thanks!, As you can tell - My pictures are now much better thx to new equipment!
Reliability is still very poor - I can't see it improving anytime soon.
As for next saturday, Funny you should be there - I'm planning to pop along for a couple of hours on saturday as I am going near to York with friends so we are stopping in!

Ticket machine onboard was out of order on some ftrs so therefore a 'Routemaster' style conductor was called in.

Also ftr takes longer time at bus stops, thats why they cant maintained every 10 mins on schedule.
