既然認為要改名, 咁即係社會上有咁既需求
HK土生土長既我地當然覺得無咁既需要
但TOURISTS未必會清楚HK有兩個RAILWAY SYSTEM (JUST AN EXAMPLE)
尤其係兩站咁近...
至於南環線, 尖 ...
有兩個或以上鐵路系統既城市好多ga wor!
其實我覺得改名最重要係話比人聽兩個站係唔相連既，
同為兩鐵合併鋪路。

香港有一半以上的旅客也在中國內地
即使在中國內地，也是有分城際鐵路和城市軌道交通(地鐵)兩種
所以東鐵在內地人眼中也是地鐵.

KCR East Rail is not intercity service because 3/4 of the patronage is local commute and its carriages are metropolitan commute standard
KCR Through Train is intercity service
The future Regional Exress linking HK-Shenzhen-Guangzhou(-Shanghai/Beijing) will also be intercity service

KCR in itself is an intercity system; and ER its local commuter service. It doesn't change the fact that it is the service offered by an intercity line; therefore part of an intercity system.
有關兩鐵合併後的車站命名問題
由於兩鐵合併後旺角會出現車站名稱重疊問題(兩站名稱一樣)但位置實有不同
參考過版友意見 我建議
旺角地鐵站改做旺角中央(車站位於旺角市中心)
旺角火車站改做新旺角(車站鄰近新世紀廣場，而且車站計劃遷移 並會發展成為新的區域)
