Well, i think it works in S'Pore, but not in HK, because the government has been promoting S'Pore nationalism since 1965, however, since the colonial era HK, the government never really talks about loving out country, therefore, alot of HK people doesn't have the concept of nationalism, and when you talk about nationalism in HK, they will think you are some kind of weird person. This I think, S'Pore does a better job then HK, as my Dad is a S'Porean, but living in HK since the 80's, he still proclaim that he's a singaporean and go back to vote when there's election (well...he vote for PAP though....), I wonder how many HKese that live oversea would go back to hk to vote...btw, not just him, but apparently, alot of S'Porean does this too...
Also. S'pore is an independent country, and those people did contribute in the part of making S'Pore what it is not, while HK is not a country and never will be. |
