This will (hopefully) be a series covering the reroutes, split by the 18 districts of Hong Kong. This will be my first, covering the Central & Western Districts, and also my first try at a district-wide reroute. Please include any suggestions!

(P.S Yau Tsim Mong District will be excluded due to admin reasons. All routes will be split to their other districts)

兩年前卑利士道先有架12M改道刮底
再前一年天鴿改道,13係要改到落柏道西行碌去蒲飛路掉頭先至行到去堅道。
所以除非卑利士道大修啦(至少斜度唔可以勁過屋蘭士街),否則唔洗諗巴士行。
仲有12/M呢一pair,呢幾年雖然係為左補窿越改越重疊,12又越改越慢。
但你呢個方案城巴一早係94年諗過,保證半山居民反枱。
比著以前有23A又有3B,成條12無左一啲問題都無。
但而家兩條線無曬,羅便臣道西行又唔擺車上去,呢兩條就算幾重疊都要夾硬分工架啦。

First of all, route 301[KMB, NWFB] may relieve the pressure of TWL (Nathan Rd Corridor) and solve the queue of route 104[KMB, NWFB] at Crossing Harbour Tunnel toll Plaza at morning peak times between Mon to Fri (except PH), there is no reason to cancel it.

Next, the case of route 629[CTB] is useful if SIL shut down by any reasons, it may change into a temporary route during emergency moment.

After that, the combo of routes 12/12M[CTB] is possible with adjustment of route at function between Park Rd, Castle Rd & Robinson Rd.

Then, the route 3A[NWFB] is not useful between school holidays/inter-peak times of Mon to Fri (except PH) as no good reason of conditions to extend its running time of the start point to 13 hrs in bi-directional operation.

Besides, the union headways of 1/5B/10[CTB] is also difficult for implementation as the first bus is at 06:10/05:25/05:30 and  the B/T of route 1 was extended to Mount Davis, the schedule won't be working effectively.

Finally, there is nothing regards to cases of routes 5X[CTB] & 13[NWFB].

47P can be try to upguade as many students who are living in Kennedy Town and they must go to South District such as Aberdeen to have their study and turn back. They must use this route to South District except 971 & 43M
3A is not useful for full day excepted the school day.

1. I am not interested to move 47P.

2. As I said, 3A becoming full-time is on a trial basis. Also, it starts from Belcher Bay (Kennedy Town), rather than Felix Villas. If you still think it might not work, I could consider cancelling it.

1. If Breezy Path is not a good option, 13 will be unmoved

2. We can do a survey asking Mid-Levels residents whether they want it or not. But, the failed attempt in 1994 is a good point. You never know that they might change!
P.S If they don't, we can consider joint operations instead. (12-20 mins for both)

1. As I've re-checked and found out that a lot of people will take this route, I will rescind the cancelling. However, there is no need for 301 to be priced at $8.8 anymore, so the price will be raised to $9.3/$9.8, in line with other routes.

2. We may keep that as an emergency line, but in other times it will be cancelled. Take 75/90/97 or South Island Line instead.

3. As I said, 3A becoming full-time is on a trial basis. Also, it starts from Belcher Bay (Kennedy Town), rather than Felix Villas. If you still think it might not work, I could consider cancelling it.
4. The joint departures are on a trial basis - it is far from done. Also, if possible I would rather combine routes 1 and 5B, but because of the memories attached it would be hard.

In 1997, a re-routing plan which route 12 would have been diverted to serve the west bound of Robinson Road and Lyttelton Road (in avoidance of overlapping route 3B and to compete with CMB route 13)was ready to implement, even stop poles were already erected, but was later being halted at the very last minute.
In 2003, the plan of route 3B and 12 combination (Seymour Road, Robinson Road(W), Lyttelton Road, Park Road(W)) was being strongly opposed as the new route was way too tortuous, despite I reckon this is a practical plan.
5 years later route 13 was once being planned to merge with route 12, by re-routing route 13 to head straight to Kotewall Road through Seymour Road, but faced the same result as the previous mentioned cases.
I do agree that merging 12/M is somehow necessary and feasible, but from the past experiences, and since these are the only two circular routes serving the upper mid levels, it's really difficult to convince mid-levels residents and the district council.

Ok, looks like the Mid-Levels residents are very picky.

How about joint operations like this:
