You have to think how old the 3BLs are - when Stagecoach Manchester finally started to
put the first of these buses on the road just less than 2 years ago, they were actually taking
similarly aged Olympians out of service...!
Even so, I heard that at least a few of them will be kept in service for a bit longer, even after
Enviro 400s are delivered. From what I understand, the current fleet status is as follow:
13501: Cannibised for spare and then scrapped earlier this year
13502: In service, although not in use today (26th Aug)
13503: In service, although not in use today
13504: Withdrawn
13505: Not seen anywhere at all today, presumably withdrawn
13506: In service, seen on rt.216 today
13507: In service today on the 142, but broke down just before noon. I've been told that it
needs a new fuel pump so I suspect its future is doubtful
13508: In service, seen on the 216 today
13509: In service, but not in use today
13510: In service, seen on the 216 today
13511: In service, but not in use today
13512: In service, seen on the 142 today
13513: Apparently it has been earmarked for conversion to become a trainer, but before that
it needs it's roof fixed - there's a big hole on it
13514: Undergoing MoT, so I presume this should be back on the road without too long
13515: Withdrawn due to gearbox problem. Note that this bus only entered service since Mar
this year after Stagecoach spent a year to repair it.
13516: In service, seen on the 216 today
13517: In service, seen on the 216 today
13518: Withdrawn. Apparently this bus has been moved to somewhere in Scotland today. Exact
destination or fate of this bus is not known.
13519: In service, seen on the 216 today
13520: Cannibised for spare and then scrapped earlier this year
In any case, it becomes harder to find one of the Oxford Road corridor now, and the withdrawal
process will gather pace in the coming weeks. Whilst it's still a bit early to say farewell to the 3BLs,
but if anyone really fancy a ride on them, I suggest you do it quick.

I get the feeling the serviceable ones will probably go to EnsignBus for further resale.

以前諗都冇諗過,呢類專為香港設計的大型巴士有機會返老家服務,
而家見返呢d相,不禁諗起佢地係香港服務既情境。 |

In fact, the 12m olympians are quite old already
It's time for them to retire, just hope that some other operators buy them~
On the other hand, it seems that all 12m olympians have the second window sealed at the offside
What is placed behind the driver? |
