LDN: New Scania d/d in service- new body

This is the Omnicity, produced as a complete unit in Poland.  There are 15 of those on order for London United , and 3 of them entered service today.
Here is SP3 picking up at the elephant. a very stylistic body- I like it! similar to the KMB model shown at Duxford???

compare this bus to 913- this is an east lancs body on the same sort of chasis, seen on route 25 in Brighton. ugly in comparison to SP3!

Compared with the Caetano body, the original Scania looks smarter than Caetano and perhaps I am not a fan of East Lancs, I would rather have Caetano if the choice is between Caetano and East Lancs.

But personally I think it is a shame nowadays London is dominated by Swedish and German made buses, the good old British Glory seems disappeared from the capital quickly.

are they only running on 148 only ?
and where i can take them without more cars and president...?

There are 15 SPs on order for route 148 running between Camberwell, the elephant and castle, westminster, marble arch, notting hill gate  to sheperd's bush green and garage [code: S].
7 SPs have been delivered now, and 8 are due to be delivered later this year. Those 8 are needed for service increases onTransdev routes 9 94 27 57 - mainly for the western congestion charges- to be introduced between dec 2006- feb 2007.

So, by Feb 2007, 15 out of the 23 buses [mon-fri] allocated to route 148 would be SPs.
The 7 SPs displace 2 TAs and 5 VAs [Trident with Alx400, volvo B7 with Alx400] to other garages, allowing 6 hired volvo president buses hired from Go Ahead to be returned to their owner [at AV garage] plus 1 bus to replace a burnt out TA at TV garage.
The 8 SPs delivered later would displace 6 VLEs [volvo B7 with east lancs bodies 10.7m long] from S garage to V garage for routes 9 [1 bus] and route 27 [5 buses] service increases. Those 6 VLEs are currently allocated to route 148!

The SOs should be allocated to route 148. but, S garage is known for allocating wrong bus types to wrong routes, and there is no reason why the SPs should not make guest appearances on routes 49 94 220 also opeated by S garage. [for the record: S garage and V garage have a common set of blinds, so the SPs are blinded for : route 9 [V garage] 27 [V garage] 49 ,72 [single deck route at S] 94 ,148,220 ,267 [FW route] 283 [single deck route at V] 391 [V route] .

As you have seen from my photos, it is not  a problem to photo route 148 , especially if you have an SLR camera.
I would suggest a ride on the route, then select your favourite spot! [the best places depend on the time of the day, the time of the year, and your own preferences!]

Omnicity's body manufacture by scania itself ?

in fact,"omnicity" is a model or body name ?!
