而家英國鐵路攪成咁, 原因有二:
1. 當年英國政府起左好多鐵路(有唔少係運貨的)之後, 因為多年的under investment,

1st of all, sorry for using broken English to reply as I am sick right now.
What you've mentioned above was right, since the management(UK gov for now) couldn't do a good job on
forecasting the future(condition as of now) at the time of analyzing how to break down BR.
The business world and those MBA people can only focus on maximizing the recent profit just like how MTR
(are they really rail operaters anyway, I thought they are just Estate developers) and current UK rail operates.
It's hard to see companies like KCR, while they had a hardtime on getting their things started, but still able to provide decent service.
The worst thing in UK, is the innovations on making new types of excuses every time.
Bad type of snow is one of my favourite, it can be treated as some non-senses like MTR got a broken tyres, bus got derailed, etc.

當年鐵路係私人起ga wor!
但係就因為咁起到雜亂無章啦。
戰後工黨政府將鐵路國有化既時候汽車已經開始普及所以就好少investment
之後仲有六十年代Beeching Cuts搞到成個網絡殘破不存(Great Central Mainline可以成條cut晒!!!)
但之後都一樣咁少investment落鐵路道:其他各國發展高速鐵路既同時英國既HST(世界最快柴油火車)卻要繼績行百幾年前建成既路軌
之後仲有英國政制中無可避免既一件事:政黨交替之後所有建樹被鏟除!!!
保守黨上場後一切國企私有化(英國人好多都好「多謝」鐵娘子搞禍英國公共服務)
同埋保守黨實施既「年滿三十乘坐巴士乃屬失敗」交通政策:"Anyone over 30 on a bus is a failure"
令鐵路比其他先進國家更落後
而家英國鐵路對準時既定義係:
短途車(<1hr)+/-10min完成車程
長途車(>1hr)+/-15min完成車程
