Leyland Lion 及 NC車身的 Foden 後置引擎巴士

請問 Leyland Lion 在英國共有多少輛呢?而為甚麼這款巴士也是使用中置引擎,但是地台沒有 Volvo B10M 這麼高?
另外,我看過一本英國書籍,原來是有一部 Northern Counties 車身的 Foden 後置引擎巴士(忘記了是哪一間公司),請問有沒有相片呢? |

Only seven Foden-NC's were built, although one had an East Lancs body and was strictly a Foden-EL (for South Yorkshire PTE). The model never went into series production, although Derby's 101 was the last built and would have been the nearest to a production type of any of the prototypes. A shame that the model failed, in no small part due to the Foden transfer box in the transmission and the thirsty fuel drag of the Allison gearbox. Derby converted their's to Voith D851 before premature scrapping.

In 1975 the company collaborated with Foden Ltd, a well-known manufacturer of commercial vehicles, to produce a semi-integral double-deck vehicle intended to compete with chassis manufacturer Leyland. Leyland had merged with traditional rival Daimler and was experiencing production and quality problems. In the event, only seven Foden-NC's were produced, going to Greater Manchester PTE, West Midlands PTE, West Yorkshire PTE, Derby Corporation Transport and Potteries Motor Traction.

比起Ailsa, 亞歷山大AL型車身的Dominator同VRT都係十分小數 |

之前看過一九九三年版的《The Welsh Bus Handbook》,便有一張圖片是 Cardiff Bus 的 Bristol VRT,單看車頭也以為是 Alisa。
另外,前 Capital Citybus 也有一輛亞歷山大AL型車身的 MCW Mertobus 第二型(即有引擎蓋兩則的散熱孔)。 |
