Dear All,
The E200 bodies dart is now replaced the famed Plaxton bodied denis dart, of which over 6000 different buses were produced.
Here is the first batch due for London service; 6 of those 10.1m long machines, where body and chasis are produced by Transbus international , entered service with Travel London . 6 were ordered for route 152.
a further batch [shorter] is on order for route C1 extension [starting Sat 6 Jan], and the same spec for buses for route 273, due to be taken over in Mid Jan 2007 by Selkent.
regards

Hi
I thought E200 Dart is a Alexander Dennis product, does the company announce the product after the restructuring of Mayflower (Tranbus) or after? Thanks

The E200 Dart was announced by Alexander Dennis
As I can remember, E400 was announced by Alexander Dennis too |

Yoram,
your title is quite misleading as E200 and E200 Dart are two different products |

I think I actually got the terms right!
when one of the 6 vehciles [such as the one shown above[ was shown at the national commercial bus show in Birmingham, the company refered to this bus as the E200 Alexander Dennis dart.
Indeed the Enviro range: E200 or E400 E300 E500 is now refered to as a body style, which is available also for Volvo chasis [as the E400 & E500 are]. in Theory, if somebody wanted it, you could ask Alexander Denis [AD]to modify the E200 body for the volvo or scania single deck chassis
Another confusing matter is that AD themselves modified officially the terms they use to discribe what is the replacement to the Plaxton bodied dennis dart- the most successful product in the UK bus industry since 1945- over 7000 of those were produced...
AD wanted to remind everyone that the E200 design based on their own AD chassis is the dart replacement, so they decided to call it E200 dart.
All of those name changes and terminology changes are confusing; the reason is that to begin with the designers at AD appeared to wish to offer the Enviro range only as an integrated body/chasis comination, but commercial reality forced the change, where the Enviro range is available as a 'body only' option.

Yoram. |
