It's this time of the year again! Last sunday saw the 2007 rally season formally ticks off
with the Cobham Bus Museum spring rally. Unfortunately, Wisley Airfield, the site which
the last 3 rallies were hosted, was sold and no longer available. This year the event was
held, confusingly, at Chobham Common, within the Longcross tasktrack owned by defence
company Qinetiq. The site is relatively far away from Cobham Bus Museum itself and so,
unlike the last few years, the museum was closed to visitors.
Nevertheless, vehicle turnout was agin good, and as featured in Cobham rally in the past,
shuttle buses are provided to connect to rail service from London and tours were operated
around local area. And, not to mention, the weather is fabulous as it's usually been in most
Cobham rallies!

Being the first major rally of the year, it is of course the appropriate moment to unveil a
number of newly preserved vehicles. This year, Cobham Bus Museum itself unveiled M6,
the first production Metrobus for London Transport. Unfortunately, it was parked up badly
and made photography almost impossible. However, the event also saw the debut the last
DMS, DM2646, preserved with the Shillibeer livery by Ensignbus:

Also unveiled for the first time (I believe) is RML2519, repainted to the Kentish Bus livery
whilst that company operate the 19 in the 90s:

Unsurprisingly, there has been a good turnout of vintage buses, which of course include
a massive collection of Routemasters:

...plus a few coaches as well:

And it is also the time for operators to show off their latest vehicles, such as 9427 (still
carrying the old number ED27), the newest Enviro 400 from Travel London:

...and one of the first Volvo B9TL/East Lancs Olympus from Delaine Buses:

...whilst First brought along the very last B7TL to join their fleet. This one, 37165, is
destined for First Hampshire:

This Metroline B7TL/President, VPL195, is of course not new. However, a mid-life
refurblishment work has restore this 6 year old bus back to impeccable condition:

Fianlly, Citybus 105. Can we have 102 next time please, Dave?
