you can feel free to get on all these bus routes without conditions, because most of these routes are supported by the local city/town council and operated between city centre and rail stations/car parks for shopping.

But last time when I went to Chester, I saw the notice at the station which claimed that the service is free only if you are holding a valid train ticket to Chester  @@"

well, last time when i got on the bus at the train station, the driver didn't request anyone to show their tickets.
