I don't quite agree with your analysis here.
I would not say that it's a trap at all since the source of the problem here came from what eric278 said at the start.
He started a thread trying to hint if anyone knew when would the route B1 start,
but then as pointed out by DA54, he knew "the answer" himself and seemed to be showing off instead of simply asking a question.

And what later took place were the misinterpretation on the part of eric278,
kept on saying what was said in his website and how he came to knowledge of "the answer".

Of course, he must be held responsible for getting the thread involved with his own website,
but he should also be held liable for releasing some "false information".
Nobody here asked him to release any information that he knew at the first place,
but once he decided to release, he should be responsible for making sure what he said was real,
and to notify others if what he said was "false".
He was irresponsible in that respect, and I guess this is why he should be held liable.

On the other hand, whether he is malicious is another question here,
and I don't think this would affect whether he should be liable for what he had done as an act,
rather it's only a factor that the broadmaster might wish to consider when it comes to "sentencing"
.

I don't agree on your "trap" analysis, even though you had already taken the words away,
which I appreciated very much.
