The E400 - 10.1-10.2m long first appeared on route 24 in London.
Since then, all the batches of similar length delivered to London operators had the same body work, and seat arrangement.
[E1-E61 to Go Ahead, the E400s delivered to Metroline, Quality Line and travel London- but NOT the batch delivered to east London buses which are 10.6m long].
Here is TE687 on the 24 showing the 'old'.
The 'new' is represented by E62 -also on route 24;
externally the difference is in the offside: the new specification includes a downstairs emergency door, which is not included in the design of the 'older' buses.
the seats:
on the old buses: 41 upstairs plus 26 seats downstairs
on the new buses: 39 upstairs plus 25 seats downstairs |
