SF E500 試車記

今天終於抽了時間去碰碰運氣試坐E500
不過我可是在沒時間表的情況下由下午3點等到5點
這幾天舊金山老是下著雨
3點鐘已經沒陽光哩
而且這星期試跑的38L線的總站是在海邊
這兩小時吹著刺骨的冷風真有夠好受

本來說到了5點我已經不想再等了
結果走了兩個街口之後它終於出現

在總站開出後第二個分站的情況，也蠻滿座的說


上車後已經有位工作人員在派servey
另外上下層各有另外一位員工
職責居然是香港和其他地方不會出現：維持樓梯的秩序
可能大家對雙層巴士的直梯都陌生
樓上的那位職員要負責點上層空位的數目再叫下面的同事放幾個人上來
不過還是發生如香港滾直梯的意外
還好不算太嚴重



美國星條旗樣式的坐椅也未免有點俗了吧(汗)
不過依觀察所見，這款坐椅對老外看來不太適合
不少老外半邊身體都被濟出通道
東方人是還好



整程有趣事兩則
首先是居然發現有ABC的巴士迷
另外就是半路有位大叔和他老婆上了車
之後就不斷用粵語和他老婆大談這台巴士和香港巴士的分別
其他老外乘客也有在談論這台車
當然也吸引了不少路人的目光

由Richmond到downtown Transbay Terminal的一個小時多車程
我覺得E500的整體感覺比一直在用的Neoplan 掛接來得要好很多
上斜、加速，我認為E500絕對應付得了，甚至更好
不過38L大部份時間跑的都是平路，要應付舊金山多山路的問題
還需要多試跑其他路線才能下判斷
當然，SFMUNI最後會不會下訂單還是另作別論


回到downtown已經是6點多
E500也要回廠了
在沒腳架的情況下拍了這張作為今日總結

PS: 另加消息一則
舊金山好像有open top E500到步，不過應該是NYC調過來的

如果無認錯, London 都有用 le 款座椅, 不過就無你講既情况出現

Well, the USAA seats are quite common in USA/ CAN transit bus ga wor, if they use those from HK.....i think it will be more uncomfortable....btw, when they were testing in seattle with the same coach, the surveyer doesn't want me to leave my seat early to go downstair for safety reason!!!! I told him....."I think with more then 25 years of riding on a double decker, I know the way to alight better then you do...."

Same here yesterday, the staff on upper decker operated the flow of stair and avoided any one standing
btw, did the serveyer look embarrass after your words?

Well, i think a little, he just gave me a sort of uneasy laught....but it's funny that they decided to have them to control flow....kinda like the 50/60's KMB era, too bad they are not selling bus ticket....

LOL...Anyhow hope I will not need to wait long to try that bus on next Monday.

Seems the interior looks almost same to las Vegas RTC E500. (200 series)

Speaking of RTC, according to friend of mine working in there, RTC is going to deploy more double deckerso on more routes next year.
201, 202 (ALL), 110 are the first candidates to be considered.

The interior looks similar to CAT's E500. There are moon roof on top also.

From 28 Oct 2007, E500 are already deployed on 202, 204, 110.
It is good to see those double-decker being tested in my community.
201 has new NABI arti-bus(or old one?I am not sure)

O.T. : I guess that's the old NABI artics, however 201 would be downgrade to use the old NABI artics~~

Btw, where will those D60LF going after 201 switched to old NABIs and 202 switched to all double decker operation?? I hope they will running on 109~~
