同意樓主, OSCAR係行車遠比TANGARA穩定, 但係將橩真係唔好坐, 由WOLLONGONG坐到SYDNEY, 真係腰都直埋, 不過佢勝在有報站, 唔驚訓過站...
至於加班, 我聽D澳洲人笑話CITYRAIL D路軌太舊, 如果加班或提速, 會令到條軌爛WO...不過由WOLLONGONG到SYDNEY, 架車只會龜速, 真係搭到 |

無用呀,cityrail個時間表都去到飽和的情況,
根本上有得你搭就唔好要求得太多啦.
我都唔知佢地d trackwork做乜?大可以保養下條路軌呀 |

The reason that OSCAR is only limited to one 4 car set instead of make up of two 8 car set is because there is a communication problems when they couple two sets together.
The current (2005) timetable is aimed to limit the amount of train services which makes less conflict and reduce delays.
Most of the alignment on the South Coast line is dated back to 1890s, and the reason that the line has speed restrictions is because of the steep gradient.
Trains running few minutes late are quite acceptable for Inter-urban trains since the track is also share with other freight or intercity traffic.
After the RailClearway project is completed, commuters should experience more reliable and frequent services.

錯了, OSCAR 而家已經可以拖到八卡車,每朝早又海倫斯堡 (Helensburgh) 開出去到 7:55am 在好市圍 Hurstville 開去邦代中心的車已經用 8 卡 OSCAR 行走。
嘩,咁都飽和,咁政府真係要起多幾條路軌了。
不過,其實 RailCorp 可否由 Freight Train 開刀去俾多點時間比 Commuter Rail 行呢?
例如不准 Freight Train 在繁忙時間入 Sydney Metropolitan Area,或者用 Trucks 代替 Freight Train。

Ahh... good to know some OSCARs are already in 8 cars operation.
Freight is the only source of income for railway, even the NSW government wants to privatise RailCorp but no one wants to buy the franchise.
Replacing Interstate Containers Freight services are a no brainer, considering the maximum length of one container train is 1.5km long, putting that amount of traffic back onto the road is just a no brainer.
Some other freights could only go on rail as well, such as coal, steel, grain, chemicals, etc.
ARTC is currently working on the Southern and Northern Lines in NSW, aims to improve the transit times between the eastern capital cities, and hope to attract more road traffic back onto the railway, and that's the way it should be. |

我坐過Blue Mountains Line, 真係見過有醉酒佬在車廂內鬧事的.
我最誇張果次, 在悉尼奧運閉幕當晚, 果陣住在Wollongong, 深夜坐South Coast Line返屋企, 架車比原定時間Delay左80分鐘, 結果抽6卡V set全車爆滿, 每排座位都坐了三個人, 仲要有人坐地下/樓梯, 企中層......
咁都未夠, 它在Central準備開出時, 仲要等d客上晒車先知個顯示板出錯(出左Blue Mountains Line去Katoomba), 車上的Guard已有廣播指車開往Dapto, 但都仲係有人聽不到, 結果去到Hurstville又出現逃亡潮.
最抵死的是, 架車在Hurstville逃亡完架車都仲係頂晒閘的. |

到今時今日,放工繁忙時間的 South Coast Line 開 6 卡 V 都係頂落去,唔明點解而家 H 可以 Tag 8 卡都唔去用。
講番當年奧運,咁 D 人去到 Hurstville 有無車返去 Blue Mountains 呀?
但其實當年 V set 可以整到 8 卡喎,咁都唔整? |

果班響Hurstville逃亡的乘客, 好似真係冇車返Blue Mountains, 不過咁, 當時已經成三點, 返番Central等第二朝頭車都唔駛等好耐, 加上果晚Central真係好熱鬧.
奧運期間, South Coast Line除了早上及深夜班次由Central開之外, 幾乎所有班次全部由Redfern開出, V Set比較長, Redfern只能容納六卡的V Set停泊, 加上由Sydney開出的班次, 又係除左早上及深夜之外, 幾乎全部都是先停Hurstville, Sutherland, Waterfall, 然後停各站至Thirroul, 然後停North Wollongong, Wollongong, 再停各站至Dapto, Thirroul至Wollongong之間的服務, 則由接駁車(L Set, 即兩卡Comeng熱狗)行走, 當時小弟就是在Fairy Meadow的Campus East暫住(因為原本在悉尼的宿舍該段期間被出租予奧運人員之用), 故此幾乎每天都要坐V Set去Thirroul轉L Set回家.
奧運期間, 小弟亦曾經坐過T Set(記得係T2)由Hurstville返Wollongong, 當時Northern Line的部份班次, 亦延長至Gosford為終點站(這些延線班次全以T Set行走)
其實不止Redfern, Eastwood也不能停八卡V Set的, 就係因為V Set較長.
另外講開車內洗手間, 如果較舊的車, 例如V Set及已退役的620/720車卡, 車內洗手間的衛生情況都係可以接受的, 不過V Set的洗手間又真係好窄下.
