[GB] Company Profile - Stagecoach Lincolnshire (Pt. 1)

For the first time in Company Profile, we'll be looking at an operator owned by one of the big groups. If you think "This is just one of Stagecoach's boring fleet of Olympians, Tridents, Solo etc......", don't turn over just yet, because this fleet is has quite a lot of surprises for a Stagecoach company.
The reason of the diversity in this fleet, comparing to the Stagecoach's standards, can be found in its history. Stagecoach Lincolnshire is formerly Lincolnshire Road Car, and it was bought by Stagecoach only at the end of 2005. Prior to Stagecoach's takeover, it has a mixed bag of new and used buses, and here in Part 1, we will look at their double deck fleet first, and then next week I will finish off with the single deck fleet in Part 2.
Stagecoach Lincolnshire has a fleet of Volvo Citybuses bought in from Burnley & Pendle. Ironically, Burnley & Pendle itself was previously part of Stagecoach Ribble, and these buses managed to, somehow, found themselves back with Stagecoach!

Of course, there are the odd Olympians. 14184 and 16476 are both cascaded from other Stagecoach fleets. 16476, in fact, is one of the earliest production Volvo Olympians into service.

16808 is another Olympian - despite froma distance, it can be easily confused with one of the low floor B7TLs:

Stagecoach has, of course, never bought a Volvo low floor double decker as new. But as they continue their takeover on various independent operators, they somehow manage to build up a substantial fleet of B7TLs. Stagecoach Lincolnshire is no exception - their standard low-floor double decker, prior to Stagecoach's time, is the Volvo B7TL/East Lancs Vykings.

At the time of Stagecoach's takeover, Lincolnshire Road Car had a batch of 6 B7TL/Eclipse Gemini on order. They were delivered as intended in 2006, and remains the only examples in Stagecoach's fleet across the country.

Of course, once Stagecoach is at the helm, future new intake of the fleet has been standardised with the rest of the group. In 2007, a batch of Euro-3 engined Enviro 400s were cascaded from Manchester, with another batch, also with Euro 3 ISCe engine, brought in as new to the fleet.

End of Part 1.
