LDN: Green line new Volvo B9 d/d buses

Hello,

Green line route 702, linking London with Slough and Windsor recieved 3 brand new volvo B9TL d/ds. the total requirement for the route is 5 buses.
the route is commercial and not part of the TfL network, hence the electronic blind and the bus is single door.
Inside, there are coach leather seats and Wi Fi enabling.

This is the first d/d for the green line since 1983, and the first brand new d/ds allocated to Bracknell/Slough for 30 years! [they always rec'd 2nd hand vehicles].

Wouldn't it be a big difference riding on this B9 compared with the Vanhool T9 or Plaxton coached in terms of journey time it takes? Also I wonder how 'big' is the space for luggages on this B9;

the seating layout is 39 upstairs, 26 downstairs. the seats are leather, and coach seats too. apart from that, this is a standard volvo B9,part of the batch of several hundreds being delivered around First bus operations outside London [for London the order is for E400 10.1m long dual door tridents].

so, as you can see, every effort was being made to make the passenger feel he/she is riding on a coach quality vehicle.

The 702 has two purposes: Mon-fri peak it serves as a communter coach to those who live in the Bracknell/Windsor/Eaton corridor- into central London. and between peaks and during the weekends- bring tourists to Windsor.
The journey takes over an hour.

so far, the 702 deployed old and second hand coaches, so, brand new buses is a novelty for regular passe
nagers!

I suppose the leather seats are similar to Harrogate & District's B7/B9TL style but personally I still preferred to have a 'coach' rather than a 'bus' on 702  The riding experience is very different especially you sat on the first few rows at the lower deck.

Woh...when will HK buses with Wifi enable? Need to paid for using the Wifi on this bus?

There are only 3 buses, and also the 'competition' is with the rail service from slough/windsor, where many of the long distance services stopping at slough are wi fi enabled...
