英國首批Designline正式投入服務

唔知大家仲記得上年買左部
Designline樣辦車81009周圍試?!


今次Stagecoach訂左9部正式載客,
全部用作行走Stagecoach Newcastle
投得的Quaylink路線.

Quaylink包括兩條路線
Q1及Q2
往來Gateshead Interchange-Quayside-Newcastle


少少路線背景資料,
Newcastle,Gatehead Quayside河濱地帶,
原係工業區,後慢慢衰落,
政府見此處濱臨河邊,又近市中心有發展潛力,
開展市區再生計劃(Urban Regeneration)...

呢幾年起左音樂場館(The Sage Gateshead),
麵粉廠改建既藝術中心(Baltic),
新吊橋(Milienium Bridge)
酒店,酒吧,Night Club等.

但地理位置輕鐵Metro無法到達,
無論Gateshead或Newcastle都要行十分鐘左右,
為方便遊人前往,
政府決定招標路線前往,
區內三大公司都有落標.
據講Go NorthEast都計劃用多元動力車輛行走,
但Wright既Offer係用Cadet車身,
難怪外表分已經比用Designline既囉晒...

條線剛由前日起試行,
但只行走部分路段同路線圖唔同,
因此乘客都一頭霧水,
個個站都要司機解釋.

批車行起好似無軌電車咁,
好靜好　川頁,
但係一上斜表現就麻麻,
唔知柏麗灣個批點?

1.免費試搭
2,內籠前軸上有座位,所以有導航位.
前軸後唔知有乜組件,所以要裝向走廊位.
3.與Sage Gateshead合照.

The Quaylink include 2 routes serving
the regenerated Quayside Development
in Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside.
The 2 routes named Q1 And Q2
serve Quayside with Newcastle City Centre
and Gateshaed Interchange,enabling
many possibilites for interchange
for metro and bus routes in the region,
also for drawing people to spend their
night in Quayside in the pubs and nightclubs
and of course the Sage Gateshead.

I have had a ride yesterday,
but I just thought there is Q1 service
from Gateshead to Baltic...as I
did not see any bus running to Newcastle...

Nearly everyone is confused as the bus
is just running from Gateshead-Sage-Baltic
and the stop for Baltic is not the one
outside it but some distance to the east.
There is notice stating the service is
not yet properly started and indicating
the temporary route but was not put
on every stop, not even in Gateshead Interchange.

Worst of all, all buses show 'Tall Ship Race
Shuttle' in destination box but neither
Gateshead nor Quayside. I must appreicate
the patient of my driver on 61008 to
explain to every passenger where the bus is
going to and I believe he have done it for
hundreds times as a result of the
unclear information on bus stops.

While for the Designline Olymbus,
the riding experience is similar to
those Trolleybuses in Continental Europe,
very quiet and smooth. But it seems
a bit hard in climbing slope.
