They will be return off lease (as they are not actually bought by London operators). Some of the London General ones are destined to be cascaded to Go North East, and I have heard a number will go to some airports as well. For the rest though, I am still finding out at the moment.

According to my friend's friend(who is working in Evobus GmbH Sales Dept.), those Citaro for London come with cheaper fuel supply tubing which cause leakage(lower spec. compare with DE's one). The spec. was by UK side and Evobus just build the buses according to it.

This is why there were several bendis suffered from severe fire damage at the very early stage of their servicing life.  I suspect the cheap fuel supply tubing spec might have changed in 2007 after a few fire incidents with the bendi buses on the London streets.

volvo兄,比較起你常見的星洲掛接車,你覺得倫敦的還是星洲的好?

我覺得大家差不多,不論舒適度和性能,但倫敦的掛接車靚D,星洲的就感覺上殘D
但在倫敦坐掛接就經常無位坐,特別是倫敦地鐵罷工果陣坐29/73真係迫到傻
至于你信不信,我反正信了

又唔係經常無位坐的,睇你咩時間同咩站上同埋距離前車有幾耐。。。

29/73就算唔係地鐵罷工日間大部份時間都係迫到傻,(除非施卡)

29晚間時間/前段N29更係一樣迫到傻。。。(往woodgreen方向,不限星期日)。。。

反而38因為太密車,多數都會有位坐。。。

Was the older specification also applied to other UK buses? If so, why didn't Volvo / Dennis / DAF catch fire as frequently as Citaros? Does the new specification (after 2007) also apply to other new buses?

The faulty fuel duct were used on Citaros built before 2005. The version of the event I heard is this only affect those (rigid and bendies) which uses the smaller 6.7L engine, which is the case for just about every Citaros in London. The fuel duct locates close to the turbo and when it cracks, the fuel simply get torched up and causing fire. The problem actually happened in Continental Europe as well and at the end it was rectified in 2005 after the high-profile fires in London.

Volvo, ADL and VDL, in fact even Neoman for that matter, don't necessarily procure parts from the same supplier as Mercedes and it is hardly a surprise that similar problem doesn't affect them.
