Regarding your "non-Greek" paragraph, I don't think a "board-friend" of "that standard" can think of the word "convenient". He may simply copy the Chinese characters or use "easy", or even "fong bin" instead. By the way, I think most people here knows the word "boardmate".

Back to the topic. It is true that the English standard of Hong Kong people has declined since 1997. It is not because "Hong Kong has to be at the same level as mainland China", but partly because of a rising identity as a "Chinese". "Mother-tongue teaching" has played some role here. Although the first batch of those students are still in their higher education, and some CMI schools are secretly boosting their students' English, it is a symbol to ordinary citizens that "the HKSAR Government no longer thinks English is important". Adding to the fact that people are already exhausted at work, it is not surprising that they have no initiative to improve their English.

I haven't used English regularly for almost a year. Please forgive my mistakes, if there exists any. #

始終覺得呢種論證好牽強…

到底佢點睇英文網，又係一個值得深究既問題…
係真係水過鴨背咁睇，還是好用心咁做Analysis，將成篇文抽絲剝繭咁參詳？

況且，肋肋聲既標準因人而異，無人知佢點先夠肋肋聲。
畢竟誰人也可自詡「肋肋聲」。
