Pay TV licence for watching TV in the UK

Is it sensible to pay every year for watching TV channels in the UK includes BBC 1,2, ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5?

The annual cost set by the Government in the UK is currently 126.50 pounds for a colour TV licence. A black and white TV licence is 42.00 pounds.

If this policy applies in HK, would every household like to pay every year to watch TVB and ATV?
