提供每天兩班從北美西岸前往亞洲的航班。(拉斯維加斯 - 東京成田& 溫哥華 - 東京成田)
位於亞洲的東京成田機場作為ONE WOLRD 聯盟始創成員-日本航空 的重要樞紐 每天 開出69班前往亞洲、歐洲 & 大洋洲的航班。為北美旅客提供最方便的接駁服務。
未來西捷航空 在加強北美航線的同時亦將會加開更多前往亞洲的班次為更多旅客提供最方便往返北美的服務。

日本航空於3月14日對外宣佈向道格拉斯訂購12架DC-8-62，按照道格拉斯目錄價格計算，總計金額高達18億歐元。日本航空目前以10架DC-9-21飛航歐洲地區的航線，加上這次增購的12架飛機，日本航空已累積向道格拉斯購入23架飛機。全數12架新飛機將於今年6月交付完畢。

Northwest Airlines(NWA) announces the new route - the 1st Transatlantic route - to Amsterdam

NWA utilizes the new DC-10-30ER widebodies to enter the transatlantic market
with nonstop from NWA east coast hub Detorit to the centre of Europe - Amsterdam

The 1st flight NW 242 was luanched on 4 September 1980, operated by 380 seats DC-10
the flying time is just 9:33
NWA passengers can make an easy transfer in Amesterdam to the rest of Europe,
by our partner airlines  - KLM - which offers nearly 100 destinations out of Amsterdam.

Of course, passengers can also the comfy ambience in our magnificent DC-10!

Northwest Airlines(NWA) 1st Trans-Pacific route luanched

NWA is keep expanding in 1980, just after the luanch of 1st Transatlantic route in 4th Sep,
NWA proundly to create a gateway to Asia, from Los Angeles base

NW 301 flies non-stop to Tokyo Haneda Airport from Los Angeles

Passengers can continue the flight to Cancún in Mexico on the same aircraft,
our new destination in Central Amerca

This flight will be served by our new Boeing 747 very soon,
the magnificent Super Jumbo providing 490 seats with extra comfort.

日本航空(Japan Airlines Corporation)證實，已向波音公司訂購45架新飛機，其中波音737-200 Adv.HGW飛機40架和波音747-200飛機5架，總價值約41億歐元。40架波音737-200 Adv.HGW的目錄價格約為22億歐元，波音747-200以每架3.8億歐元的目錄價格來計算，5架飛機訂單總值約19億歐元。JAL Corp.表示，新飛機將在1980-1981年期間交付，用以開辦更多亞洲地區、歐洲地區及北美洲地區航線，有助日本航空大幅提升運力。
