[UK] National Express West Midlands Metrobus last day

The final 4 MCW Metrobuses in National Express West Midlands are set to withdraw as of 27th July 2010.

A special commerative day will be held on Saturday the 24th July, along with an public open day at Acocks Green Garage.

The inital plan (subject to change) for the garage open day should start at around 9am with some static buses on show. Out on the road, they will set their final 4 Metrobuses 2832, 2835, 2903, 2988 to operate on service 37, part of 11a / 11c and finishing on the service 1 finishing back at the garage at around 4pm.

2903 from Walsall garage entered reserve fleet in Miller Street was reinstated to Acock's Green earlier this year. It took part in Walsall's Metrobus last day finished on a X51 duplicate service.

Come along an remark the end of the legendary bus in the Midlands.

The last ever journey by a Metrobus is operated on 1-04 Departing town Hall at 14.49 arriving AG 15.20 then private to Garage

Apparently there are expected to be 6 preserved Metrobuses parked inside Acock's Green garage on the day, some of them may take part in the duplicate run on the last ever journey.
