I believe if Airbus decided to introduce A340-500E/600E, it need to be soon before its too late... At the moment, the last A346 of the production line should come out by the end of this decade and could be a EK A346IGW...
But did the introduction of A340-300E really helped A343 sales that much??? I believe Airbus need to find ways to reduce the operation cost to make A340-500E/600E successful...
If Airbus dont act fast, it could be too late and we could see the end of A340 production by the end of the decade...
I believe using some A350 cost saving method on A340-500E/600E is very possible as it enable Airbus to test the material too before putting them on A350...

CEO Leathy has provide a basic point to business that they don't need to just looking at how good is the engineering is but also can look from how Airbus can offer on the financial side. To me as a engineer this is not a good idea, but I have to say he is clever.
