Off all the hybrid buses now serving London, the least known is probably the pioneer - the Wright Electrocity. Although the first examples went into service with London Central as WHY1-6 back in 2006, the type was notoriously unrealiable, with barely 1 or 2 in service on a good day. However, following a comprehensive rebuilt, the Electrocity seems to have turned the reliability corner, with London Central taking 6 further examples to convert the 360 to full hybrid operations. |
