some people in the industry did mention that, hybrid bus seems to be a transition product, and its development may go not very far away from date.

To certain extent, I think the bus company would rather use government money to do something riskier.

I agree that E500H maybe a better option, but E400H would be even riskier due to the weight of the bus.

Using government money to buy E400H can aslo verify for the E500H, why not?

Furthermore, where hybrids really save money is in city driving. That, ultimately, would point to the E500H being more suitable to Hong Kong's busy main corridors.

It is, particularly with a strong backer like Stagecoach, it's bound to be. The B5LH is also winning an increasing number of orders as well, and it is now recognised that both type are pretty much on par, with the E400H having to edge on being more refined, whilst the B5LH a more versatile vehicle.

krausssammy: It all depends what engine they will be using. If they stick with the same ISBe engine as the UK version, there is a good chance that they will end up being lighter than the existing E400s in HK.

Only one is known to be in service with BC Transit in Canada.

This is the only Hybrid version of Enviro 500 in Victoria, BC, this bus equipped Cummins ISL engine and Allison Ep50 Hybrid Drive~~
