I found a quote talking about this:
"The bus was named 'Andrew Pickering' by NCT when it was refurbished in the mid-1990s. Andrew was young bus enthusiast who a life threatening illness. Apparently 666 was his favourite bus and when he died, NCT arranged for it to take part in his funeral procession."
